On Track Data

On Track is a Victorian Government initiative designed to ensure that Year 10 to 12 government and non government school students are on a pathway to further education, training or employment after leaving school.  The Victorian Government launched On Track in 2003.

On Track surveys students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who completed or left school during the previous year.  The survey is designed to provide information on post school destinations and identify young people not in education, training or full-time employment.

On Track Connect, as part of On Track, aims to assist young people who have completed or left school and are not studying or in full time work through assisting them with an alternate pathway.  The role of the LLEN’s in On Track Connect is to broker and negotiate appropriate referral arrangements and provide advice to young people about options for reengagement in post compulsory education, training or employment.

In 2007, the LLEN received 58 referrals for Year 12 completers and 18 referrals for early school leavers.

Of the 58 Year 12 Completers referred, 45 were referred on to appropriate services, such as Job Network providers, TAFE & other educational institutes or specific programs.  19 out of the 58 identified having a MIPS or Pathway plan.

18 early leavers were referred to the LLEN, 17 were referred on to appropriate services, although many were already enrolled in education or working part time.  Six students were able to identify having a MIPS or Pathway plan.
